The next morning, Jon was dismayed to learn that he'd lost more weight while he'd slept. He weighed in at only 138 pounds, and noticed that a lot of his muscle mass seemed to have faded away. His hair had also lightened to match Karyn's color and was past his ears.

Frustrated, he grabbed the rock. "I wish I knew when this would stop!" And then he was relieved to find that the worse was over. He'd lose a few more pounds, but nothing else. He turned back to the mirror.

"I look terrible! I'm at least fifteen pounds underweight, and what few muscles I had are almost gone. I look a bit more feminine, but no one should notice if I wear baggy clothes." Jon went about his morning routine, not noticing that he was being much neater; rather than tossing his clothes on the floor in the bathroom like usual, he neatly deposited them in the hamper.

After getting dressed, Jon slipped the rock into his pocket. "I'll have to find some way to counter these wishes after school during the weekend. The last thing I want is to do is make a rushed wish before school."

Classes went as usual. A few people seemed concerned about his weight, especially Karyn, but no one else paid much attention to him under the sweatshirt. Finally, the last bell rang. Karyn found him in the parking lot and asked if she could come over, but Jon shook his head. "I'd just like to find somewhere quiet to think of a way to reverse all this. Maybe some other time?"

Karyn was a bit upset. "You know, you're not the only one with physical alterations." She gestured down towards her chest. "You think I love hauling these things around? Can you at least let me use the rock? I think I know how to word it to get things back to normal."

Jon nodded. "I guess I was being selffish. Here." He handed her the rock.

Just then, a shadow fell across the two of them. "What the hell are you two doing?" Allan Lansing scowled down at the pair. Allan and Jon had never gotten along too well, as Allan had lost a girlfriend to Jon back in middle school and had never forgotten. Ever since, he'd gone out of his way to be a minor annoyance in Jon's life. "Playing with rocks now, huh? Let me see that." Before she could react, Allan plucked the rock out of Karyn's hand.
