After the wish was granted, Jonnie disappeared from the car. Karyn was in shock. What happened?!
Since Jonnie was the one driving, there was no one to steer the car.
Karyn grabbed the steering wheel, but she couldn't hit the brake, since she was still in the passenger seat. Fortunately, Jonnie wasn't driving too fast, because they were already in the parking lot of the mall when Karyn made her wish. But stopping the car was still a problem.
As the car skidded along the concrete barrier on the edge of the parking area, Karyn thought about why she just hadn't used the rock to stop the car.
"I wish that the car would stop." The rock glowed. And it looked like she was about to get her wish. There was a truck parked across the aisle up ahead. She turned the wheel to turn down the left aisle, but the car instead slammed into the side of the parked truck. She got out of the car, not injured, but certainly shaken up.
She looked around for Jonnie, but remembered that he wasn't there. And she wondered what happened to him.
