"What the fuck are you doing here?" Joan asked Karyn.
"I ... um ... well ..." Karyn didn't know what to say. Although she felt that everything was right the way it was, she didn't have any memories of this reality. She didn't even know if Joan and her were even friends or not. But given Joan's attitude towards her, Karyn had to guess that they weren't friends.
"I asked her here," Joan's mother said, coming out of the kitchen.
Joan walked to the front door. "I'm going out."
"When will you be back, honey?"
Joan didn't answer. She just left.
Joan's mother sighed. "It's so hard having a Goth as a daughter."
Karyn started to think that maybe her wish wasn't the best idea afterall.
