Sure enough, just as her mother fastened the diaper, Jon found herself lying on the ground. She quickly found that she didn't even have the strength to sit up.

The utter feeling of helplessness was more than Jon could take, and she was soon crying. It wasn't like the wails of a normal infant, though. Instead they were the choked back sobs that she might have cried when she was still a teenage boy, embarrassed to be seen in such a state.

Jon's mother quickly picked her up with a huge smile on her face.

"Aren't you just the cutest thing ever!" she exclaimed.

"I don't think she likes being a baby," Karyn said.

"Don't be silly, Karyn. At this age, she probably isn't even developed enough to remember that she's not supposed to be one."

"I'm not so sure about that," Karyn replied, "I don't think I've ever seen a baby cry like that."

Linda examined Jon's face for a few minutes, then decided that Karyn might have a point.

Jon, meanwhile, was beginning to have something of a breakdown. She may have retained her memories of being Jon, but physiologically even her mind was that of an infant girl. It wasn't long before something snapped, and she was screaming like a normal infant.

"Shh, shh, it's okay," Linda said, "she must have just needed a minute for her brain to adjust. There there, sweetie. Let's get you dressed, you must be cold."

With that Linda dressed Jon in a pink onesie. It wasn't long before the exhaustion from all the screaming made Jon too tired to stay awake, and the new infant drifted off to sleep.
