Jon looked down at her expanding belly. "I didn't want to be turned into a mother either!"
Karyn laughed. "Too late!"
"This isn't funny," protested Jon. "This is ..." She could feel new life inside her. The word "serious" was insufficient. After a long pause, Jon forced herself to say the obvious: "My ... baby ... who's the father?"
