CJ awoke the next morning around dawn feeling feeling more refreshed and ready for the day than she was accustomed to. She brushed her teeth and hair and headed to the kitchen for a bowl of cereal. As she removed a bowl from the cupboard, she felt a bit disappointed... Why settle for cereal? She quickly put the bowl back and removed a carton of eggs from the refrigerator, and set about her work.
A short time later, the eggs benedict and hash browns were steaming on plates and the grapefruit was cut from its rind, a setting as perfect as you could buy in any restaurant. CJ had never been much of a cook as Jon, but today's routine just felt right.
As CJ was setting the two servings on the kitchen table, she heard the earliest stirrings of her mother in the bedroom overhead. Like Jon, her mother had never been a morning person. Almost without realizing it, CJ considered using the stone (still tucked away in her mother's purse) to make her mother an early riser like she now was, refreshed on just a few hours' sleep.
