Suddenly Jane realized that she had been holding the wishing stone and then she had someone to talk with about CJ and that someone was Karyn.
Jane called Karyn, luckily reaching her instead of her parents. "Karyn can you come over. I'd like to talk with you about CJ."
"Sure Mrs. M. I'll be over in a couple of minutes."
Jane paced back and forth while she waited for Karyn to come by.
Before Karyn arrived, CJ came home.
When CJ returned home, she shouted out, "Mommy. I am home."
"In here dear." Jane said.
"Mom, this is Ruth Ann. Can I go over to her house to study?"
"Sure. Dinner will be at the usual time. Be home to help me put it on the table."
"Thanks Mom." CJ said.
Jane watched as the two preteen girls left.
Karyn arrived at the house just as CJ and Ruth Ann opened the door to leave. CJ knew Karyn but showed no recognition that Karyn and Jon had been good friends.
"Hi, CJ is your mother home?" Karyn asked.
"She is in the kitchen." CJ said before shouting over her shoulder. "Mom. Karyn is here to see you." She then added "Bye." As she and Ruth Ann skipped down the sidewalk to Ruth Ann's house.
Karyn entered the kitchen and looked at Jon's mother. "You are right Mrs. M. We do need to talk about CJ."
