Jon looked Karyn over. She looked exactly the same - she already had the permanent doll makeup, and he had specified that her "skin" would be textured as if it were real. Was there an indefinable lightness of spirit showing in her face?
As he studied her eyes, she took her knuckles and rapped them softly against her chest, producing a hollow sound. "Yep - just like before," she commented, sounding pleased. "Ahhh, I feel so light and free of cares!" She inhaled deeply, making her chest rise, and closed her eyes. She held the pose, her head tilted slightly back.
Jon looked her over for a minute in silence. He hadn't quite thought this out in detail, but it seemed that making Karyn of plastic meant she no longer actually needed to breath, but was able to when she thought about it. She wasn't thinking about it now. Still like this, she could have been a department-store mannequin. He almost reached out to pose her arm, but decided against at the last minute. He returned the stone to its magically-enhanced hiding place in his desk drawer, then slowly walked around the motionless girl, studying her from all angles. "Well - I can see you're liking it," he finally said. "I don't understand it, but I'm glad you're happy."
Karyn giggled happily, opening her eyes again. "Thanks. Jon?"
"Yes, honey?"
"Would you... undress me?"
