Jon's mom picked herself up from the bottom of the stairs, unhurt and stared at her son. "Honey, you might want to fix your clothes!"
Jon looked down and realised he was still standing in the ruined rags of Karyn's old clothes. "Um, yeah, I wish I was wearing my own clothes."
Just as they all blinked Jon's clothes became a simple pair of jeans and a teeshirt.
"Mom, how could you humiliate me like that?" he asked in disbelief.
"Oh, honey, come on, it was just a little fun, you were cute." She replied, sheepishly.
"Well, fun for you maybe. You must know how dangerous this thing is. I could have been stuck as a 10 year old, or as a girl, or both, for that matter. Not my idea of fun!"
His mom sighed. "You're right, I'm sorry. I just got a little carried away."
"Well, okay. I think you deserve a little punishment." He grinned.
"Oh Jon. No, please, don't do anything stupid." She pleaded.
"Just a taster to make you think about what you've done, young lady," he mocked, mimicking her voice. "I wish my mom was 10 years old again and would remain that way for two days before returning to her current age."
"No!" But it was too late. There was the customary moment of disorientation and in Jon's mom's place was standing a 10 year old girl, somewhat swamped in her adult clothes.
Jon grinned. "Don't worry, it's only for two days. Think of it as a chance to regain your youth!"
His mom sighed, she was angry, but she knew she deserved it and there was nothing she could do but just live with it for the next couple of days. But if she could get hold of that rock, she could play a little joke back on Jon, she just had to wait her chance.
Jon looked up at Karyn giggling from the top of the stairs. "And as for you, Ms. Scott..."
