"I wish you'd be quiet and listen to what I have to say," the older Sarah said, but there was no warm sensation coming from the stone and definitely no flash of light. She looked down at it, puzzled. Then a light went off in her head and she suddenly felt so stupid.
"What is it? Why didn't your wish work?" Sarah asked.
"I wished that you couldn't use this stone."
"So?"
"I'm you, remember? That means I can't use it either." How could she be so careless, especially after all that had happened?
"So, you're powerless, then," Sarah said, a grin entering her lips.
The future Sarah didn't like that grin. She had had it herself so many times before, so she knew that her younger self was planning something ... something devious.
