"Athena, I wasn't always like this," Zoe said.
"What are you talking about? You've been like this since I met you."
"No, I haven't. It's because of this." Zoe showed Athena the rock.
"What is it?"
"It's a magic wishing rock. It made me like this."
"Yeah, right. A wishing rock?"
"Yeah. Don't you believe me?"
"Sure, Zoe. Come on, stop fooling around with that thing and let's go."
"You don't believe me."
"I said I did."
"Yeah, but you don't. Too bad both of us aren't different, then you'd believe me."
"No way. I don't want to be like that."
"I wish you were." The rock warmed in her hand. "Uh oh."
"Uh oh?" Athena said, right before she changed.
After the flash of light dissipated, Athena looked at herself in shock. Light green top and a brown denim skirt. She'd never wear anything like that. And her hair wasn't even dyed anymore. She couldn't possibly go out in public like that.
Yet, deep down, part of her wanted to stay like that. It was very strange and she didn't like it.
"How do I change back?" she asked Zoe.
"Um, I don't know."
"Maybe if you make another wish?"
"Oh, right. But, what should I say?"
"How about ..."
