From one direction she heard the sound of heavy metal music, and people yelling. She realized there must be a party going on there.
The oddest part was that the party seemed to be coming from where Sarah lived.
Zoe spotted a girl walking down the street--dressed in black, of course. She didn't recognize her until she got close, but it was that girl Karyn. She looked much better with dyed hair and makeup and without those reddish curls. "Hi Karyn!" she said.
"Hi Zoe! God, I hate Sarah."
"What?" asked Zoe. "She's a Goth like us, right?"
"She's not letting us into her party. What a stuck-up bitch."
And it occurred to Zoe: just because everyone in the area had turned into a Goth didn't make them all friendly. There were so many Goths around that they could break up into cliques like anyone else.
"Want to crash it?" asked Zoe.
