Sarah sat on the bench and winked at Jon as he approached. She had gone with a preppy schoolgirl look today: short pleated skirt, knee socks, white blouse and stiletto mary-janes. It was an outfit she wore when she really wanted to tease the boys.
"Give. It. Back." Jon said through gritted teeth.
"Give what back?" she said cloyingly.
"You know what I want. That stone can be very dangerous."
"I know, which is why I don't have it with me. You think I'd be stupid enough to bring that thing to school or show it to anybody else?" Sarah was obviously mocking his decision to bring the stone with him yesterday.
"Where is it?" Jon said, trying not to raise his voice.
"It's in a safe place, don't worry," Sarah said. "I'm done making wishes for a little while. For now I'll just sit back and watch you squirm."
"So, what? You wished up a tan and manicure for everybody? What's the point?"
Sarah rolled her eyes. "OMG, don't be so dense, Jon." She flashed her fingernails. That shade of blue was really starting to get on Jon's nerves. But he was starting to catch on.
"You're turning them into you?"
"Just wait and see." with that she got up and started to walk into the building, her heels clicking as she emphasized the sway of her hips.
"You're a real bitch, you know that?" Jon called out.
"Better get used to it," Sarah replied without even looking back. Jon looked around. He was the only one still outside. He was alone.
