Sarah nearly squealed with delight at the power she now possessed, but quickly quieted herself, careful not to raise any suspicion. She heard footsteps coming up the stairs, and spoke quickly.

"I wish I was back at my house in my own bedroom." Sarah felt dizzy, but the disorientation passed quickly. She opened her eyes and saw the familiar surroundings of her own bedroom. She spent a minute just looking at the rock, wondering where it came from. How could something like this actually exist?

But there was no time for that. It was time to have fun. And fun, for some time, had involved tormenting Jon. Sarah knew that Jon more or less despised her. Oh, sure, Jon thought Sarah was hot, like any of the other guys at school. She'd seen the way he looked at her, and she knew how to tease him with her body and her skimpy outfits. But she knew that wouldn't be enough anymore, especially since that bitch Karyn now shared her most useful assets.

Sarah knew why Jon hated her. It was her personality. Vain, selfish, condescending, high-maintenance. The typically altruistic Jon stayed away from those types of people. And that's what suddenly inspired Sarah's wish. Since Jon hated Sarah's personality, she would make it impossible for him to escape from it.

"I wish that, over the next week, everybody in town except for Jon Madison would begin to act and dress more and more like myself. I wish that, by the end of the week, everybody will be dressing and acting exactly as I would, and will believe that's the way they've always been. I wish Jon and I would be the only people to notice the changes." Sarah chuckled. She couldn't wait to see how Jon would react to something like that. "Plus," she said to nobody in particular, "It'll be nice to have some like-minded people in this town for once."

At the same time, Jon was tearing his already messy room apart. He knew exactly what had happened, he just didn't want to believe it. Soon, he was on the phone.

"Karyn, it's gone!"

"I know it's you, Jon. What's wrong?"

"No, it's GONE! Sarah has the stone!"

"What? How did she-" Jon cut her off.

"I'll explain everything. I'm on my way right now. Just keep an eye out for anything unusual. We've got to figure out how to get the stone back."

Jon hung up and ran down the stairs, nearly running over his father.

"Woah, son," he said, "Where are you going in such a hurry?"

Jon quickly made up an excuse about having to study at Karyn's and bolted out the door. He was about a block away when he paused. Was something different about dad? He thought something was off, but there was no time to worry. It was probably just his imagination. He began running again, hoping to get the stone back before Sarah made any wishes.
