Every year, John likes to have his friends over at his place for a 4th of July BBQ. When they were all younger, these BBQs mostly consisted of eating cheap food and drinking the most amount of alcohol possible. With time, the friend group remained the same but their BBQs changed slightly.
Last year, John moved into a new house and this would be the first time he’d have everyone over. In the back of the property sat a swimming pool that John talked up massively. Everyone in his friend group was excited as this would really set this year above all of the previous years. Additionally, John had gotten better at cooking and started to use better quality meat. The alcohol may have started to dry up but no one complained when they left with their stomachs full instead of a massive hangover.
4th of July finally came around as one by one everyone started to head over to John’s place. The driveway was packed within a few hours as the party had fully kicked off. Everyone was having a great time as John loved how perfect his house had become for this celebration. People were swimming in the pool while others sat around soaking in the sun. It was picture perfect. Eventually, John called everyone in to eat as inside of the house laid a full spread of food.
