Jon left the cafeteria slowly heading back to his locker. What had she said? If I damage these clothes, I could get the physical penalty? Not taking them off early is easy enough, but damaging - God, I'm going to be overly focused on making sure nothing happens to these clothes, aren't I?
As he was grabbing a different notebook for his next class, Tyler, a guy Jon only knew in passing, came up and leaned into the next locker over. "Yo, Jon, looking good!"
"Thanks, Tyler." Jon looked him over. Tyler had on basic jeans and a sweatshirt. "Looks like you got off easy today with your closet, huh?"
Tyler beamed. "Yeah, I don't know who these belong to, but it's all stuff I'd probably wear anyway! Sometimes you get lucky. Unlike you, I guess, huh?" He laughed, good-naturedly. "I guess you're going to pass on soccer practice later, then?"
Jon stared. "What are you talking about?"
Tyler rolled his eyes. "C'mon, you're not going to be able to run around, let alone pass, in those heels. You won't be alone, at least. Coach Miller lets us all sit and watch if we have to in October - actually, did you see what he's dressed as today? It's the most pink I've ever seen anyone wear at once, let alone an old guy like him."
"No, Tyler, what are you talking about with the soccer team?"
"What are you talking about?" Tyler laughed again. "Here's hoping we all have decent closet luck on Friday, though, especially when we have to get changed for the game. What do we need, wins in our next three games to make the playoffs? Hope enough guys are willing to take the physical penalties to play, otherwise it'll be really rough going." The bell rang. "Alright, hey, see you later at practice, at least on the sideline!"
Jon stood there as Tyler walked away. So apparently I play soccer now?
