Karyn just stood there, staring right at the two sisters.
It was almost as if she was a pink-frosted stone statue, right in the middle of the locker room hallway. It was kind of scary.
Could the power of the stone have blown her mind? Too many wishes at once?
Jon exchanged looks with Sarah, who at that moment was more friend than enemy, both looks showing mutual fright at what might come next.
Then Karyn snapped out of it.

It's like I had this necklace, and I kinda remembered touching something like it before, then I thought of other things I've touched before; like cucumbers, and how comfortable they are when they put them on your eyes, and then how I need a facial "
"Karyn, that necklace is soo cute. Could I try it on?"
Sarah glared at Jon as he moved toward her scatterbrained friend to undo the necklace's catch. Karyn had wished she would never take off the necklace, but that didn't mean that he couldn't do it himself. And a smile began to creep across Jon's glossy lips. Thank God for Karyn. He was going to be OK after all.
" but who does that, right? And then I remembered you two all fighting and stuff but I got all confused. Sometimes you don't make any sense! It's like, Paige, your sister's just trying to help us get mega-popular like her, but you're always arguing. I just wish that you'd listen to her!"
The smile went away immediately.

Jon barely had time to gasp as the necklace flashed a bright white.
He was frozen in place with disbelief.
Sarah's cackle echoed through between the lockers like a witch.
"Oh. my. God. Paige. We are going to have like the best time together."
