While Mark was busy stepping in as the mom of the household, Mary was living Mark’s life without even knowing that this wasn’t natural. To her, nothing had changed in life and she had always been Mark for the 18 years she had been alive. Following dinner and dishes, Mary had decided to go up to “her” bedroom. Typically, this was what Mark would do as after dinner the entire family would go their separate ways. Now, Mary was alone in what was formerly Mark’s bedroom completely alone.
After a day at school, it wasn’t uncommon for Mark to come home and relax with a little bit of video games. This carried over to Mary who was set up at Mark’s desk. She laid back in her chair as she browsed Mark’s game collection on his computer, seeing if anything peaked her interest. In her mind, she had false memories of buying every game in the collection, many of which Mary would never approve of.
While trying to figure out what to play, Mary heard the computer beginning to play a jingle. It seemed that someone was trying to call her through Discord as she looked to see a notification with the name “Blade”. Immediately, Mary picked up the call as she quickly grabbed her headphones on the desk. Slipping them on, she could already hear someone sending insults her way.
“This fucking bitch don’t even have his headphones on. Yo bitch, you hear me?” Mary heard this as she slipped her headphones on.
“Sorry I was busy fucking your mom. What up dude?” Mary said the second her headphones were completely on. It seemed that Mary was getting a call from Mark’s friend, Paul.
“Hop on COD bro, double XP weekend.” Mary immediately jumped back to her game library and pulled up the latest Call of Duty game. Had this been the original Mary, she would have not known what COD was, let alone been able to pull up the game so effortlessly. Instead, she had the game up and running in a matter of seconds.
“How long you trying to play tonight? I know your ass is going to need me to carry,” Mary joked. It was strange hearing her talk this way as Mary would never swear this much, let alone speak this way. Removing her voice, it was identical to how Mark would talk. Even factoring in Mary’s higher voice, she pitched it down slightly to sound a bit closer to Mark’s.
“Yeah yeah whatever. I’m trying to play this all night. Hopefully you won’t miss out on mommy tucking you in.” This sort of back and forth was common place for Paul and Mark. Now with Mary, nothing changed as Mary was Mark in all aspects of life minus his body.
