The small Karyn landed on the ground awkwardly, and heard a scream from the version of her walking down the path.
"Where is this?! Where did Jon go?" The walking Karyn seemed to be handling this odd realm very poorly, crying and getting pushed around by the mirror.
Small Karyn felt embarrassed seeing herself so overwhelmed and distraught. It hadn't been this hard for her, had it?
"Don't you remember our wish? We wanted to know how the stone saw things..." the smaller Karyn tried to reason with her, but she was very stressed by being pushed around in darkness.
"Who are you? Why do you look like me, where is this place? Are you the stone, or Jon?" The standing Karyn was losing it, and the small doppelganger was overwhelming even if it was speaking reason.
The smaller Karyn got upset by that, "Do I look like Jon? I'm Karyn. Or at least the Karyn with her wits about her. You don't see me freaking out about how freakishly large you are, do you?"
Looking behind her, the 'original' Karyn plainly saw that, as far back as the eye could see into her past, there were always two Karyns, one much smaller. She calmed down, things seemingly making more sense. No one was trying to steal her life, it was just people who understood each other trying to talk.
"Why has the stone taken us here, though?" The larger Karyn talked to her child sized friend.
"I don't think it took us anywhere, we're just seeing and thinking the way it does. I climbed around outside and the ground up there is all stone. It's like we're living on or around it." The smaller Karyn was a little disappointed at how little help Karyn was being, they'd both been allowed to be awake in this realm, but apparently only she wasn't totally overwhelmed by the experience.
"So if we leave, do you think we could make a wish on the ground outside?" Karyn asked, suddenly clambering out herself.
The smaller Karyn was taken aback, "Why didnt I think of that?!"
