How lucky was this? Two for the price of one! She was getting it all!
Of course she was. She was Sarah McMillan. But even she was taken off-guard by this latest development. Completely surprised, but also completely delighted!
She couldn't have written a better story.
Jon Gibson was the first one on Sarah's list after she took control of the stone. Now that he was going to be a McMillan for the rest of his life, she felt satisfied to consider that mission complete. Always, though, her next step was going to be getting revenge on Karyn Black, her sworn enemy.
However, it looked like she wasn't going to have to do anything at all.
Karyn, it seems, had fulfilled Sarah's plans, and done it all to herself! The poetic justice of it all was enough to make her squeal with delight. And for the cherry on top, Karyn Black, class-A loser, was transforming herself willingly!
She wasn't sure exactly how it happened, but Karyn had walked into the school that day a changed girl. That same Karyn Black, now mincing down the hallway in high-heels, clad in a micro-mini skirt, voluminous blonde hair coiffed just so. For all intents and purposes, the previously strong-willed, opinionated Karyn now looked to be completely self-absorbed, vain, and desperate for validation from Paige and her circle of friends. Karyn couldn't wait more than five minutes without checking herself out in a mirror, couldn't stop applying and reapplying strawberry lip gloss to her lips, and couldn't stop following Paige around. Her actions simultaneously screamed hot girl confidence and needy follower.
Karyn had become just another one of Paige's wannabes. So fitting...so, perfect.
Sarah smiled wickedly, and headed to class.
_____
It was SO GOOD to have Karyn to hang out with again.
Lately, Jon had felt like he was slipping. Slipping into being the peroxide blonde with a penchant for hoop earrings and the powerful older sister. It wouldn't have been so bad, would it? Bask in popularity through high school, party her ass off in college, and then find a guy who she could marry for money. Sure, being a trophy wife might not be what Jon would've wanted, but as Paige, if he wanted to go through life pampered in leisure, it was his. All he had to do was look pretty. A few times, he almost just gave in. But that was before Karyn came back into the picture again.
He had really missed her companionship. After Jon had given her that makeover, it was just like old times again! The topics between them were a whole lot more interesting now, too. And they could share clothes! Things were really starting to come together. They might even cheer together during basketball season, if Jon could make Varsity, or she dropped down to JV. Stranger things had happened. Karyn didn't seem to mind that she was hanging out with someone two years younger than she was, but after Jon had the stone, he'd fix that.
Jon pursed his lips. With Karyn back, he had to get serious. It was time to get the stone back. And he had to make sure Sarah wouldn't ever see it coming
