Steve was still leaning to talk to Jon, even as Jennifer had turned away. "So I guess we won't see you on the sidelines at the game later tonight?"
Jon gave him a skeptical look. "What? No. I'm not going to the game. I never go to the football games."
Steve shrugged. "Just saying, you're dressed for it."
Jon shook his head. "No, actually, I've got plans with Karyn."
Steve immediately perked up. "Oh yeah? That's what I'm talking about. Dinner and a movie or some shit like that?"
"I don't know, maybe, we don't really have any details worked out," Jon turned away, hoping to be finished.
Instead, Steve grinned at him. "Come on, bro. Details are really easy if you're taking someone to dinnner." He grabbed his crotch. "You just need one big sausage, you know what I mean?" He laughed. "Here, copy off me."
Steve pulled at his pants and pulled a tubular mass of flesh through the clothing, and in one quick manuever, reached over and slapped Jon in his cheerleader skirt. "Bam, like that!" Steve chortled.
Jon shifted. He had already been trying to figure out how to sit in a relatively short skirt without showing off Sarah's underwear to everyone. Now he looked down and could see a large bulge. The rumors about Steve's enormous dick were clearly true. Oh God, now I REALLY can't get a boner in class. How in hell does he keep this whole thing in his underwear? Jon tried to adjust himself. How in hell am I supposed to keep this whole thing in SARAH'S underwear?
Just then, Mrs. Kline called the class back to attention. "Ok, now that we've discussed the themes, let's read the next scene in The Crucible together. I need some people to play a few different roles, and there's a little bit of a monologue here, so, hmmmm...." She looked around the room. "Oh, Jon, you were late, so I'm going to make you read the John Proctor part. Jon, you'll be John!" she laughed.
Here I thought I could just be quiet and get through class without having to say anything, but I'm already two additional 'features' in, and now this, he thought.
The class proceeded to recite the lines from the play. Usually these were half-hearted performances at best, depending on whether someone from the drama groups had been assigned something to read or not. They got to the part where Jon had to read off the monologue, but Jon's head just wasn't in it to do a decent job. He didn't want to be talking, he didn't want attention, he didn't want to set himself up for another copying opportunity... he was wearing a cheerleader uniform, he had incredibly long hair tickling his shoulders and back, he was carrying a purse, and to top it off, he had larger arm and chest muscles being restrained by a bra underneath his clothing and he was practically sitting on an enormous dick. It was all too much.
Unfortunately, Mrs. Kline noticed. She cocked her hip in front of the class. "Jon, you can do much better than that! This a big scene! I know you're not in drama, but you can always put a little more effort in. Think about the themes you were all just talking about. Think about channeling that." She began gesturing around the room, striking big poses as she emphasized each point. "It's just like anything in life. Come on! You need energy, a bit of flair, passion, confidence, to give it what you've got!"
Oh shit, thought Jon.
"Here! Copy off me!" Mrs. Kline strutted towards him, reached both hands towards her body and pulled out what Jon could only describe as her aura, glowing and pulsating, lights flashing in all directions, nearly blinding him. In both fluid and dramatic movement that only Mrs. Kline could pull off, she brought it forward and pushed it into Jon. He felt himself practically rise out of his seat for a second, his body tingling, sensations running from his core to his toes, then receding as his eyes slowly came back into focus, with the glow now settled inside.
"Now, Jon," Mrs. Kline strutted back to the front of the class. "Start again."
Jon looked down at the script. He could feel his body first sit up with more confident posture, then suddenly he was standing. He narrowed his eyes at his classmates, and began to recite the lines again. This time, he found himself speaking from a low voice, but with intensity ringing through each word. He grew slowly louder as he went along, moving his arms to gesture at other classmates as if they were the supporting characters. He found himself shouting the final lines, his voice defiant and heartbreaking.
No one said anything for a few seconds. Then Jennifer broke the silence. "Holy fuck, Jon." And she applauded a little, joined in by a few other students.
"Language, Jennifer," Mrs. Kline said matter-of-factly as she kept her eyes trained on Jon. She broke into a wide smile. "Now THAT is what I'm talking about, Jon. Well done."
Jon sat back down, adjusted himself, and crossed one leg over the other. He smiled proudly, sitting as confident as he could in a desk chair, his chest slightly thrust out. A few of the girls looked over at him, and he raised an eyebrow at them and wink. They blushed and turned away. If Karyn had witnessed all of that! he thought. He nonchalantly reached down into his purse and felt around until he pulled out several tubes of lipstick. He looked the options over briefly, and settled in on a bright red. Keeping his eyes on Mrs. Kline as she continued to run the class, he applied it to his lips and put the tubes back in his purse. A perfect way to show off a bit, he thought with pride. Jon reached up behind himself and tossed his ponytail a bit, before settling in again.
And internally, he realized what he had done. How he was sitting. How he was acting. How he was moving. How he was thinking. The skill that was second nature. And part of him cared very much and was extremely concerned.
But another large part of him wasn't bothered at all.
