"Sometimes, I wonder why water is wet. I mean, it's, like, everywhere, right?" Will said. "Even in space."
"And space is black," Darren said.
"You're so right," Will said. "That is so deep."
Nearby, Shirley and Nancy were dancing with each other, twirling around in circles and giggling.
"What is the meaning of this?!" yelled Steve Renner, their boss.
"We're, like, chillin', man," Will said, before breaking into a smile.
The two women giggled.
But their boss didn't think this was funny. "You are setting a bad example for this company. You're fired. All of you."
"Whatever, dude. You, like, totally need to chill. Wanna try one of these ..." Will said, handing some pills to the older man.
Steve slapped the pills out of his hand. "Get those things away from me, you pathetic little stoner. I can't believe I actually hired all of you. I guess I'm not a good judge of character after all." He shook his head, then walked away towards his car. But then he had a final thought and turned back towards them. "Get out of here, before I have you arrested for trespassing."
"Whatever, man," Darren said, then swallowed another pill.
The two women kept dancing around and giggling like fools. And the two men continued to pop pills and talk about how deep each other was. They had just gotten fired, but they didn't care. They were too high to care.
