Carol patted a space on the bed with one hand while opening a fresh diaper with the other hand. She cheerily encouraged Luke, "C'mon baby girl. Hop up here and let me diaper you. We don't want any accidents do we?" Luke felt a new level of docility and felt eager to please his wife so he simply lay down beside her and complied.
As she was diapering him Carol lead a normal adult conversation with him, suggesting things they could do today or places they could eat. Luke almost started to feel normal and like he still had some control over his life. With his diaper on he stood up again and waited for Carol to dress him. She helped him into another band tee shirt from his extensive collection. Then she put a pair of short legged dungsrees with a cute cartoon design stitched into the denim. She then put ruffled socks on him before putting his regular sneakers on him.
"Now, you look adorable sweetie. Let's go and have some breakfast and make a plan for the day. You get the coffee on, I'll be down in a few minutes." Again he felt a mild compulsion to do as she asked and he headed downstairs. He had a slight wiggle to his walk, caused by his diaper. Once in the kitchen he set up the coffee machine and it had just started to brew when Carol came into the room. She quickly scrambled some eggs and brought two plates onto the table. Like say down but before he had a chance to eat she fixed a pink bib around his neck before pouring coffee for him and herself. She handed him a plastic sippy cup with coffee in it which he happily accepted.
They ate quietly for a while and Luke couldn't help but make a bit of a mess as he ate. He found he didn't really have the coordination to use a knife and fork properly and eventually started using his hands. The bib caught most of the mess and he jokingly said, "good thing you put this bib on me babe, I'm making a bit of a mess here." Carol just smiled and said it was no problem. She noted it was less messy as usual and said he was becoming "such a big girl" which gave him a sense of pride.
As Luke finished his food and drank his coffee he thanked Carol and asked her what she'd like to do today. He felt subconsciously that what she wanted to do was more important than his own wishes so he happily agreed to every suggestion she made. The plan that formed was a trip to the mall for a spot of shopping, followed by lunch in their favourite cafe, a walk in the park and finally a nice drink or two before coming home for dinner. This sounded fine to Luke but to Carol it had the makings of a perfect day. She said she was nearly ready to go but that she had to pee first. Luke casually followed her into the bathroom. She though nothing of sitting on the toilet and peeing with Luke in the room watching on. He was still intrigued by the whole process but wondered aloud how she knew when she needed to pee before it happened. As far as he could remember he always just felt the pee coming out or sometimes not until it was already out. Carol told him he'd figure it out eventually and not to worry about it for now. She washed up and grabbed a diaper bag before holding Luke's hand and lead the way out of the house and out to the car.
The front door had just closed when Luke suddenly felt very uneasy. It took him a minute to realize what was wrong but he blurted out, "Daisy. I forgot Daisy. She has to come with us." Carol smiled lovingly and reopened the door. She came back out a minute later and handed Luke a worn looking soft doll in a pink dress. Luke hugged the doll close and just said "Daisy. Yay". Carol found his adorable and unlocked the car
She got in the passenger seat and Luke automatically got into the driver seat. Some things from their old lives still carried through now and life felt like normal as he drove to the mall.
