“What’s the matter?” Alice asked Nick, who appeared to be lost in thought. “You still thinking about what your brother said?”
“It’s hard not to.” Nick looked at his hands. “I mean… is it really possible that this isn’t who I’m supposed to be? That I’m actually supposed to be some girl? Nicole… it just doesn’t sound right.”
“Yeah… I don’t know what to think about it but he was very specific and he seemed genuine. But it’s hard to know what to trust when reality-altering wishing stones are at play.”
“Yeah you’re right. And If people really have been trading lives like he described, it could still be happening right under our noses and we wouldn’t even know it. Isn’t that kinda scary? You could have your life stolen by someone else and you wouldn’t even know it. Nobody would. Maybe you already have.”
“Hey!” Alice punched her friend on the shoulder, inadvertently causing her larger breasts to jiggle. “Are you trying to freak me out or what?”
“Sorry, it’s just hard not to overthink things under the circumstances. I mean I basically learned it’s quite probable that my whole life is a lie today.” Nick bit his thumbnail.
Sarah punched his arm again eliciting an exaggerated ‘ow’. “Stop hitting me.”
“Did that feel like a lie?” Alice asked.
“No. It felt like pain.”
“Your life is real to me, Nicky. I mean you don’t feel any different do you?”
“No. Do you?”
“Nope.” Alice replied, before tugging down at the front of her shirt. “Well maybe a little over-encumbered.” She let go, causing her chest ornaments to spring back up and jiggle to rest.
“I wonder if I had big boobs.” Nick squeezed his flat pectorals.
“I’ve probably got Nicole beat, whoever she was.” Alice propped her chest up with her hands. “Now come on, let’s find that stone.”
