If I was right about my hunch, doing the conversion on a human would bring us another 5 levels each. I guess it balanced out the big curse that was cast over the whole tribe. Now that I had my human legs and a reliable crew and weapons, it was finally time to leave here. I looked at the 2 who used Nabo's ass. "The 3 other warriors are going to kill us for messing up their plans. Let's go before they get here." I said. Because I was not a total asshole, we left them a single trident for their protection. Nabo followed us out. We were a party of 5 at the moment. The merfolk were still extremely slow as they were getting used to walking. We left the cove and wandered the beach. I was surprised to see a trio of young men and a much older woman on the beach at this hour. We had been walking for over an hour in-game. They were having fun while my party members were totally exhausted. They noticed us from far off. The 3 young men stood up and were guarding the woman. The garments we wore were for modesty. When we left the cove, it became a one piece bathing suit. Only 2 of us had it.

Not willing to wait, one of the young man walked over to us. "What the hell is wrong with you guys!? Most of you aren't even wearing clothes." he said accusingly. I just looked at him up and down. He was an average teenage boy. We could take him. "We were on a ship that wrecked along the rocks back there. We are looking for help." I said. He looked alarmed. "Really!? Oh no! We'll see what we can do!" He then rushed back to his group. The other boys came back to us. "Where is the crash? Do you need some first aid!?" one of the other boys asked. "Whatever you can do. Some of them are in a bad shape. Follow us!" I said. We then walked back the way we came for half an hour. As we were moving, I inched us closer and closer to the shoreline. I then stopped. "What happened? Are you alright?" the third boy asked. I shook my head. "Get them. It's time to convert." I said. The warrior and caregiver that used Nabo's ass knew what that meant. So did the other warrior that woke up. They all drew their tridents and beat the unarmed boys senseless. They then dragged them into the water.

Obviously, drowning was not a pretty way to go. It was violent and panicked. A couple if the fought it, but it was no use. The tribesmen were all trained from childhood in a brutal arena meant for melee combat. Their upper body strength was unmatched. Once they were above you and pushing you down into the water, you were not coming back up for air. They passed on and were laid out in the sand. The merfolk kissed them as if giving CPR. The drowned young men began to glow and they turned into merkin as well. The scales on their new tails were white as snow. I looked at the new merkin halfway in the water. "What are you going to do with them?" I asked. They did not seem to care too much for them. "We are to make sure the balance of merkin is maintained. That is why we convert humans. This month's coming of age is the most dangerous period of our lives. We can be captured or killed at any point." one of the new warriors said with a cough. "They may live as they please wherever they want. Even if we really wanted to, we cannot take them back to our tribe now." the other said.
