Jay looked at her, dreamily. "I think I love you, Kyla."
"You ... do?" Kyla asked, stunned.
"Yeah. In fact," he said, getting down on the floor. "Marry me."
"What? I ... I can't marry you. I'm still in high school."
"I don't care. I want to spend the rest of my life with you."
Kyla looked at him strangely. At first, she thought it was all a joke, but he seemed very genuine about it. She really liked him, enough to actually date him. But marriage? That seemed a little too far. And how come Jay didn't do this before? Maybe when they didn't have an audience? What prompted him to show his feelings all of a sudden?
"Um ... Jay. I ..."
"Please. I'll do anything for you."
Now it was really getting weird. He almost seemed obsessed with her. He was taking his love for her to a whole new level.
He took her hand and pleaded her to marry him.
She snatched back her hand and said "I wish ..."
