Watching that young boy absolutely and completely tear that grown man apart was honestly wild. Sextus needed to have some seriously broken stats. In FOG, children got the average of their parents skills. This meant, the stronger and more durable the parents were, the stronger the children would be. Tertius wanted the twins to breed for this very purpose. For Sextus to be this young and so dominant, his father had to have been a monster in the arena. His mother was probably pretty impressive as well. From there, they needed to have trained the boy to fight from the moment he could walk. Sextus Sittus had a household name, so he had to have been born as a free man. That meant that his mother was also free at the very least. It would be wise to make some connections here in the arena. None of us would fight the gladiators here. I could probably beat them at my level, but they would be tough fights. They knew what they were doing. The twins would get slaughtered. After farming some shitty gladiator slaves, we might get the notice of some of the others. It was worth the try.
Sextus Sittius
I paid for us to stay in a decently furnished inn. We could not be seen to slum it. There was a reputation to uphold here. For the first 3 weeks, we teamed up together. At first, they gave us a 3 on 3 fight. It was over right away. All of them looked down on us. Then, it was a 3 on 6 fight. We breezed through that. Then it was a pack of really hungry lions. Paulus also accomplished this feat. Being a team of 3 made it less badass though. Now that we had established that it was not just luck, they took us seriously. The fourth week, we faced off against 10 gladiator slaves. That was not enough to slow us down. I was a Player. I did not need as much time as NPCs did to rest from wounds. I had stamina for the fights that others simply did not. Cassius and Caelus were also NPCs that needed rest and recovery time. They were slaves, so they did not get a say; they obviously would elect to take many breaks from combat. All the gladiators that we first saw took a month off. That was fine with me. We were making money hand over fist. I was betting on us to win every fight. I wanted easy wins.
Xenophobia, even towards people of the border provinces was crazy to me. It did not matter that I had won 2 tournaments. Being 19-0 in Ainon Province meant nothing to them. People treated me like I was a nobody. The twins were 10-0 over there as well. It made sense that they would be overlooked. They were simply slaves. Still, we were going to need to work hard to gain a positive reputation here. Utinum was in Irab Province. The capital was a couple hundred miles away. The capital region was called Namor. It gave the empire its name. Being so close to the capital and in a prosperous city, we were making 2.6 times as much money for winning fights as we were in the city of Ainon. Naturally, there were way more people betting on fights. That made the pot much bigger when we won. I was really enjoying the progress that we were making. We were all 4-0 here. This proved that winning in this place was not a fluke. We were separated and placed in the lower card. Each of us had to face 3 big opponents from among the gladiator slaves in their pits. We all won. It was super easy.
