Mikey sighed, looking at his comic book. "I wish me and my family were superheroes."
Suddenly, his bedroom door flew open and a strange man in a mask and cape walked in. "Now I've got you, Wonder Boy."
Mikey sat up and smiled. It was just like one of those super villains from his comic books. But his smile disappeared when the masked man pulled out a gun and pointed it at him.
"Oh, this is all too easy," he said, gloating.
"Not as easy as you think," someone from out in the hall said. Mikey recognized the voice as his sister Zoe. She walked into the room, blocking the doorway. Oddly, she still looked gothic (pale skin, black dyed hair, and black nail polish), but her overall appearance was definitely that of a superhero - a black latex skin-tight outfit. On the front of her "costume" was a lightning bolt with a circle around it.
"Dynamo Girl!" the villain yelled, in surprise.
"You better stay away from my brother, or you'll regret it."
"Make me," he said, aiming his gun at Zoe.
"Your call," she said, then thrust her hands outward. An electrical force shot out of her hands and hit the villain, sending him flying into the wall. He was out cold instantly.
Mikey stared at the unconscious villain and then at his super powered sister. "Wow! That was great!"
"Great? Are you kidding me? The Mad Mugger almost killed you. You should really be more careful, Mikey. Next time, don't hesitate from taking out the enemy. I won't always be around to help you."
She left the room, leaving Mikey to think about what had just happened. How unreal, yet exciting it all was. His family really was a family of superheroes, just like in that Pixar movie.
He wondered what his super power was.
