To say that Zoe was weirded out would be an understatement. A few minutes after her encounter with her new Goth mom, Zoe left her bedroom and ventured downstairs, only to find that the rest of her house looked like an extension of her bedroom. Black-painted walls, black curtains, dark-colored furniture, gothic paintings, and various gothic or even demonic knick-knacks being used as decorations here and there.
She walked into the kitchen, which looked like more of the same.
"Mom, what the fuck is going on?" Zoe asked. "What's with the house ... and you?"
Her mom turned around and looked at her funnily. "What are you talking about?"
"Mom, you're dressed like a Goth. And the whole house looks like my bedroom."
Her mom continued to look confused. "Goth? What's that?"
Unknown to Zoe, the entire world was now populated by Goths. It was the norm. So since being Goth was no longer unique, the term "Goth" wasn't used.
