As Zoe surfed through her usual Goth sites, occasionally chatting with other Goths, she wondered why life everywhere couldn't be like this. She wouldn't have to ask permission to get piercings and tattoos if everyone were like that anyway. She sighed. "I wish everyone was Goth."
Outside in the hall, Jon walked by. Zoe's wish was granted to him and not her. But no matter who made the wish, the outcome would have been the same.
In the blink of an eye, Jon became a Goth boy, wearing a nylon shirt, leather pants, and black boots. And since he didn't hear the wish, he thought things were always like that.
He briskly made his way downstairs and out the front door. He had to get to Karyn's house. And then he had to get the stone back.
