"Zoe. Please I need to go home" I whined. I knew my cheeks were bright red from embarrassment, or they would had been if my face wasn't coated in Zoe's horrid white goth makeup. I was certain it would had been visible, but one glance in a mirror that was in the handbag slung from my right shoulder showed a very frightened goth girl. "Do you realize how embarrassing this is for me?"
"Relax, sis" Zoe soothed
"Don't call me that!" I snapped.
"Why not. my dear sister" Zoe said.
"Because anyone that knows you knows you do not have a sister. They will assume, correctly, that I'm cross-dressed like... this" I snapped quietly, but forcefully.
"Sorry, Joanna, but you're just as much of a girl as I am, so unless I get my powers soon, get used to skirts and sitting down to pee. Trust me, the whole goth look suits you, and things could be a lot worse for you."
"Worse?" I spat out.
"You could had become younger; you sure whine like a little girl" Zoe said, before a smirk appeared on her face. "Maybe that isn't a bad idea, Anna. Be my little sister, have the bitch treat you like her little doll. Be her little princess.."
"Pass" I said. I wanted to continue, but it was too close to the mall. I didn't want to risk someone overhearing. Zoe, despite all her teasing sensed this too, and leant over, whispering in my ear, "You worry too much, dear Anna. Who is going to recognize you? You'll be fine. Just remember, take smaller bites so your lipstick doesn't smudge. I've placed a tube in your handbag just in case.."
"Oh thank you very much" I said sarcastically.. "Why can't we take the pizza home with us?"
Zoe paused, wondering whether to whisper. After a few seconds, she said, much to my horror, "Because, Anna, I want you to be used to being around people. You can't go to school like how you did yesterday."
My eyes went wide in horror. Unless she gained her powers, Zoe intended for my to go to school dressed as a girl. As Joanna. "Have you lost your mind?" I demanded as closed in on the pizzeria.
"I think so" a voice said, along with a giggle. I spun around and saw a couple of blonde teenaged girls that I vaguely recognized. Instantly, I could feel my face growing even redder. "Why would either of you want to dress like that? I'd die if..."
"Ignore those brainless sheep" Zoe said, grabbing my hand.
"Sheep?" the leader of the two said before firing a few parting shots. "Freak! Hey new girl! Don't listen to that corpse you're with"
Zoe scowled, as she lead me inside. Fortunately, there were nobody that I recognized inside, but I still felt everyone's eyes turning in our direction, to gawk at the two goth girls. Even better, she seemed to had taken my thoughts into account and ordered takeaway, but i still felt embarrassed like never before, and Zoe seemed troubled.
