Two days now, I have been stuck in this hellhole all because of something that someone who I don’t even know did. This girl, Tiff, decided to try stealing something from dELiA*s, a shop that, as far as I knew, had closed years ago, but for some reason, this one was still open. The security inside the place called her parents instead of pressing charges and calling the cops. I suppose I should be thankful for that. The last thing I needed on top of all of this craziness was a record.
Her parents took me “Home,” at least that’s what they said they were doing. I wanted to speak to Jon and find out how I ended up where I had. No luck there. They went to this house in L. A and that’s where I met this woman who claimed to be my mom. I knew she wasn’t, but for some reason, no one listened to me when I said so. I was told to go up to “My” room. It took me about ten minutes to find it. Boy, this was a big house. I bet Sarah McMillan would be jealous.
I sat in that room for about half an hour until “Mom” called me to come down. It was then that I found out that Beth and I were grounded as well as Tiff. How could I be grounded because of something that someone I didn’t even know had done? I almost shouted all of this at her, but I didn’t because I suddenly thought of what must have happened.
Athena bloody, Athena DeVries. She must have been trying out some kind of magic spell and messed it up. It wouldn’t be the first time. Whatever she had done, she would sort it out soon, or well, let’s just say she had best sort it, best friend or not.
Most of that happened on Friday, and it was the next day that I found this girl Lara’s diary. I wasn’t sure about reading it at first, but I soon got over that. Ok, Ok, it took me a couple of hours to decide to read it. I might be a bit of a bitch, but it was another girl’s diary, and that goes against everything; it just does. But this was the second day of Athena’s screw-up, and I needed some answers.
Not that I found many in there. It was mostly full of which quarterback at school she liked and how much this boy called Dustin Hale annoyed her. A strange thing was that the last entry was for the day before I arrived here. It took me till about five minutes ago to decide to add to it. I suppose I was when “Mom” said I should get everything ready for school in the morning.
I thought that Athena would have sorted this out before it got to that point, but apparently not. Just wait till I get my hands on her. For the moment, I'd best play along with whatever this is, as I am in enough trouble. Time to be the new girl at school again.
