Silent. The bathroom was silent. No sound of running water. April was aware of her body being more athletic than Jon was used to as she legged it to the place where she had spent a surprising amount of time today. The stone was still in her pocket, and she hoped that she wouldn't have to use it. She didn't understand. How was she still her? The shower was done, which meant that she should be Jon.

Actually, there was a second wish that should have intervened. She obviously wasn't done with the shower, right? How could Zoe interrupt?

The bathroom door was open, no need to do anything awkward to get in. April slammed the door behind her, too panicked to worry about parental repercussions. The shower was indeed off. She had visual confirmation now. Was this her life now? There was nothing wrong with being April, April thought, but that was an awful lot of pink.

Hoping for a miracle, April turned on the shower. Nothing happened. Her heart raced, until the logical part of her brain that was definitely not Jon because that was not how brains worked asked why she thought turning on the shower would do anything, since it wasn't part of anything else.

She didn't roll her eyes. That wasn't ladylike, and if she was going to be a Peach imitator for the rest of her life, she might as well start now. She turned the handle and the shower cut off.

Like the draining of a bath, the almost familiar feeling of the transformation ending brought her to her knees with relief.

Jon took a deep, calming breath. It was fine. Everything was fine. Everything. There were some unknowns, some bugs, that had been figured out, and that was fine. Natural. And not really a problem.

If someone else turned off the shower, he didn't change back. That was a feature. Less water waste, for sure. Definitely no need to keep the transformation in the bathroom. He could work with this.

And the interruption wish probably interpreted "taking a shower" as "actually being in the shower" which was totally fair. That is what those words totally meant, after all. It was fine.

It was fine.

Jon noticed he was wearing his clothes. The ones he had taken off before the shower, that had apparently been turned into April's clothes. Turning the shower off had turned them back.

Curiosity won out over the panic, and the shower was on, instantly warm like the wish specified.

He reached a hand into the water. No change. He rolled up the leg of his jeans and stepped a foot into the stream. This apparently counted as stepping into the shower, enough for the wish to trigger. The changes ran up his arm and down the all of April. She looked down at herself. Jon's clothes had vanished and April was wearing a rough approximation of the golden bikini from Return of the Jedi. Her hair was done up in the Leia cinnamon buns, though, which she wasn't sure Jon had right. She'd tease him about it later, if it was wrong. If he was real. I mean, if she was real.

April sighed. It had been a confusing and stressful day. Not what she thought the fulfillment of Jon's fantasy would end up being. Sleep would certainly help everything make more sense in the morning. Probably.

April shut off the water, Jon shut off the light and went to bed.
