When we came to that bridge, we would cross it together. Aiden was still thinking about it when I crouched down in front of him. "If you don't mind me asking, why did you do that if you did not think you were ready? We're both male layers. We know when the eggs are coming in. Why let Mark cum in your ass like that if you didn't want the egg fertilized?" I asked. He gave me a tired look. "I don't know, David. I just..." he trailed off. I waited for him to get his thoughts together. He took a very deep breath and looked down at the floor. I was all ears. "I'm kind of lonely in this big house. Don't get me wrong- I love it! I just don't know what to do with myself. In the city, they wanted to use me because I was poor and dumb. People still gave me a chance to prove myself." he said. Aiden then frowned deeper. "Here? They already know I'm a layer and treat me like shit. The only people I know here are you and your family." he said. It was true. "You can always come over to hang out." I said. He shrugged. "I know. But I still want someone that's here with me. Just for me!" he said. "Then raise the child."

Xenophobia aside, the town was great to grow up in. It was relatively safe. There was lots of fresh air. You could find much worse places for a child to grow up. Aiden's own childhood had been remarkably shitty. He now had the opportunity to give his child the chance at love and stability he never got. He slowly stood up and pulled me into a hug. "Thank you. I feel much better now." he said softly. "Remember that you are not alone. Mark is the father, but you have every right to keep it a secret from him for as long as you want. We all know how he feels about layers." I told him. His eyes went wide. Clearly, he had not thought about that at all. This really was done on an impulsive whim. Some whims were way more destructive than others. This was something Aiden could deal with. More importantly, it was something that I could help him through. He looked more at peace when he broke the hug. "This has been a really great day. Thank you." he said. I took that as my cue to leave. When I got back, dinner was on the table. Everyone was digging in. They wanted to know how my day went.

It was simple enough to get through the story. "Does that mean we're going to have another kid to play with?" Willow asked me. I nodded my head. "That's good," he said at the table, "because I'm sick and tired of being the baby of the group." It was true that everyone thought he was the cutest. He was also the weakest. Everyone in the family wanted to protect him. That was not such a bad thing. Having my back up was great no matter who you were in life. On the other hand, he clearly wanted to be seen as capable on his own merits. Fuyuta, Haruto, Natsumi, and Akira were the strongest. They did not bully anybody at their school. Even when no one wanted to be their friend, the 4 went about living their own lives they way they wanted. That was training to be part of the gang. They wanted to be enforcers that took out threats to the gang. Old Kipler easily accepted his grandchildren into the gang. He had no reason not too. He knew they came from bronze eggs. He knew they would be ridiculously loyal. The one thing Old Kipler warned them about was to keep all their eggs secret.
