A puppy found its way onto our property. I did not want to keep a pet. I was not a big fan of the breed. It also looked malnourished. Getting it back to health would need a lot of care and attention. Those were things that I did not think the children were ready for. Even after all the pleading and the pouting, I stood firm. They really did not like it. Luckily, the puppy was not truly abandoned. One of the boys in town came asking whether anyone had seen it and where it had gone. Apparently, it had weaned off of its mother recently and wandered off when the others were being sold. This was an oversight on their family's part. They were always meant to keep one. The one they had set aside got loose. Since he was the rightful owner, I told him about the puppy we found. Evan was there playing with it when we came over to give it to the boy. His name was Quincy. Somehow Evans convinced Quincy to come by and bring the dog so they could all play together. Quincy nodded his head. I was fine with that. It was about time that one of us make a real friend in town. Why not be friends with Quincy?

It was a fast friendship. Quincy was over at our home almost every other day. Evan was better than Quincy at everything. That was to be expected. Quincy was a regular human NPC. Evans was bred to be a master of destruction. The stat lines they had were not even close. Evan was not even the best among my children. That accolade went to Fuyuta, Haruto, Natsumi, and Akira. They played together at his house and at ours. People of the town did not approve of it. They were not going to say anything to us about it. The townspeople did complain to Quincy's parents though. That was how he got grounded a ton. It was none of my concern how his parents wanted to raise their son. All I could do was keep my son safe and sound. Naomi and Aspen were both on the same page as me about this. Benny and Kenny also made a friend surprisingly. They happened to get along with another gang affiliated family that moved here too. Their son's name was Maxwell. Their parents were drug manufacturers for Old Kipler. With the remote location, it was a good place for cooking. It was great.
