Do NOT get angry... they weren't trained, they don't know...

Jae was having a hard time getting across to her human friends exactly how to handle the situation. If she got too fundamental, they'd misunderstand how urgent it was, and if she correctly emphasized the need to act, they'd act hastily and make it worse.

"Alright, so... think of the nature of being and traits as a type of shape. This book is a consistent shape and nature, but you only see a certain range of angles on it at any one time. And unless the book is acted on, turned into an open shape, its essential contents cannot be immediately seen or accessed."

Karina was very enthralled by this line of discussion, Joanna less so.

"Now, what a magic like your stone's does, is it takes various persons and spirits, and similar to a reader of a book, rotates, unfolds, reads and reinterprets them to suit its own spirit and direction."

It's a lot more severe than that, but can't instill panic in the students...

"Now the initial traits of the book, or person, never stop mattering, but the force of the reinterpretation can completely alter or recolor all aspects of it. The book can say a wall is blue, but the interpretation can now make it aquamarine or sapphire or teal, and all those myriad interpretations are just as faithful to the initial object."

Joanna, visibly bored, was clearly treating this more as idle gossip than essential information.

"So, even though you weren't royalty, you were probably genuinely capable of helping others and being a worthy, influential person, which is why the magic could reveal that in you. We'll call it a kind of 'Ontological Rotation.' The worrisome part comes in when the interpretation is... not adventitious. The magic could look at the series of natural regions or trade dynamics you're abiding in and conclude that youre an excellent piece of flora or fauna or artifice in it. Really any energetic integrity pattern that you could be construed to have. That's why perennial principles like honesty and integrity get chaotic forces so vexed; you're directly limiting their abilities to only a bandwidth that helps you and others. Joanna became an energetic protector and not a selfish wretch or inanimate object, because there's genuine good traits about us that take a while to permute into nonsense and slurry."

"OH, so you think that the stone is going to destroy the entire world to make Mikayla's wish come true?" Joanna was actually somewhat interested now that it entered into 'her' concerns.

"Y-, d-don't panic, though..." Jae smiled. How can they understand and do these things anyway?
