As Zoe surfed through her usual Goth sites, occasionally chatting with other Goths, she wondered why life everywhere couldn't be like this. She wouldn't have to ask permission to get piercings and tattoos if everyone were like that anyway. She sighed. "I wish my family was more like me."
Suddenly, her entire room began to change. "What the fuck?" she exclaimed. She watched as all of her possessions morphed into something much less gothic. In fact, when it was all done, her room resembled the bedroom belonging to her brother Jon, except it was a little more girlish. Even her music changed, becoming classic rock, which was Jon's favorite. And in place of her collection of occult merchandise was a stack of video games.
What happened?
Outside in the hall, Jon walked by. Zoe's wish was granted to him and not her. So his entire family became more like him. But since he didn't hear the wish, he thought things were always like that.
He briskly made his way downstairs and out the front door. He had to get to Karyn's house. And then he had to get the stone back.
