As he walked upstairs, dreading what he would find in his bedroom, he muttered "Sometimes I wish someone else got that stone. It just causes too much trouble." He opened his door, readying himself for anything. But Sarah wasn't there. And, unfortunately, neither was the stone.
"She must have taken it with her," he said aloud. He was angry, and he had every right to be. But, unknown to him, Sarah didn't take the stone with her. In fact, in this new reality, she didn't even try to get inside his house. No, Jon was the one that made the stone disappear. In this reality, it was never given to him by his grandfather. It was given to someone else.
Regardless, Sarah's original "wish chain" wish was still in effect, since wishes couldn't be canceled, even if the reality changes so that the wish could never have been made in the first place.
