Jon had spent the rest of that day trying to keep his head down and tried to avoid Biff, but he seemed to be everywhere; they kept running into each other in the corridors; in classes Biff always chose seats as close to Jon as possible, no matter where Jon sat; and to top it off, at lunch, the only available seat was one next to Biff.

By the end of the day, Jon was a bundle of news, conflicted feelings buzzing in his mind; part of him wanted to flee in terror from Biff's attentions, while another was flattered, and yet another, secret part, was thrilled at the opportunity to act on a secret crush he had on Biff. He was so distracted by these conflicting thoughts that as he was leaving school at the end of the day he didn't notice as the cheerleaders hemmed him in.

"Hey Jonny-boy," said Vanessa, Sarah's replacement as head cheerleader, "Where do you think you're going? There's a game on."

"Crap," swore Jon, "I forgot all about that."

Vanessa grinned and took hold of his arm, "Come on, game's this way."

"But I don't even know the routine!" he protested.

"Don't worry," she smiled, "just follow our lead."

Jon sighed and followed along, knowing he wouldn't be able to get out of it. The game began, and Jon followed the lead of the other cheerleaders, the moves and routine somehow coming more and more naturally to him as the game went on. What he didn't know was that Sarah had used the stone to subtly alter his mind so he'd now what to do.

"Way to go Jon," laughed Vanessa after the game, "Told you you could do it." Jon blushed, hoping they'd leave him alone now that the game was over. "Now to be a real cheerleader you need to come to our post-game party."

"I-I already have plans," he stammered.

"Blow them off," snapped Vanessa, crossing her arms "you're coming."

"no he isn't," interjected a stern voice. They rounded on the speaker, prepared to tear him down, and froze when they saw Biff. "He's got a date with me." The jock stomped over and put a protective arm around Jon. That was enough for the girls and suddenly they were all smiles again.

"Why didn't you say Jon?" Giggled Vanessa, "We'd have backed off if you'd told us you had a date with the school stud."

Jon blushed and shrugged. Biff smiled and gently pulled Jon away. "Come along Jonny-boy, you can catch up with the girls tomorrow." They walked to the entrance of the changing rooms and Biff gave him a hug. "See you later," Biff grinned "I'll pick you at your place in an hour." Giving Jon another hug, he entered the changing room, leaving Jon alone with his thoughts and only an hour to get home and get ready for the date.
