Jon and Karyn entered the mall by the food court as they were accustomed to doing for a routine visit. But since this visit was far from routine, neither of them was much in the mood for eating. As they passed all of their normal eateries, Jon could see Karyn looking around at stores. However, he could tell by the look on her face that she was not window shopping, as much as trying to make out letters in the signs of the store names. Even familiar stores held no source of a clue to Karyn as to how to decipher the signage out front. Karyn knew that she had passed Abercrombie and Fitch, and Spells 'R . (just kidding), but could not believe that she could not make out the three simple letters in G A P.
As her frustration was returning from the car, Jon decided to make a better attempt at conversation this time, so he asked, "So, where do you think we should shop first?" As he looked over and saw a twinkle in Karyn's eye, he quickly interjected, "No way, we can't do it. There is no way we are going to Victoria's Secrets. Remember, I have to go into a dressing room to try things on, and I do not think that they would approve of that in there."
Karyn nodded her head in agreement. She looked around to get her bearings in the mall, and suggested, "How about we go to Pennys? I know that they are not at the forefront of style and fashion, but that place is usually busy enough that we could get into a dressing room with a variety of clothes without being overly suspicious to anyone." Jon cringed when he heard the word "busy," as he was hoping that the store that he made his purchase would be anything but busy. But he understood Karyn's logic, and so the two friends proceeded over to Pennys ..
