Jon wanted Sarah to be his girlfriend... he had always thought she would be the perfect girl for him, but now, with her sitting across from him on his bed, the time seemed right to ask...
"Sarah... I was wondering... if... you'd... uh" he tried to say it but the question kept getting caught in his throat.
"Go ahead Jon, what is it?" Sarah asked sweetly.
"Sarah... will you, er... Will you go to the dance with me Friday?" he finally spat out, his cheeks going flush.
Sarah sat there across from Jon with a tension in the silence. Jon was getting hopefull, until Sarah burst out laughing.
"Aw, Jon... you're hillarious! Look I gotta go, I'll see you at school tommorow!" she said as she kissed him on the cheek and left.
Jon felt so small, he couldn't believe she just laughed him off, he was serious, and she took him for a joke. He wanted to die... if only... if only...
