“Zoe?” Jon heard his sister’s voice as he kept trying to move, even though it was clearly pointless.
“Nice going, Jon. One slip-up, and everything goes completely off the rails.”
Zoe’s voice got sharper. “Ughhh, how the hell did you fall out of bed?”
She scooped Jon up just as another voice chimed in. “Hey Zoe, your mom let me in.”
Someone stepped into the room.
“Karyn?” Jon recognized his friend’s voice and managed to catch a glimpse of her before Zoe laid him back on the bed.
Karyn looked different now—she was rocking the same gothic style as Zoe. She had on a tight black top that really showed off her chest, clearly boosted by the first wish.
“What’s with the blow-up doll in your room?” Karyn asked, sitting on the bed.
“I bought it a few days ago. I was gonna use it as a decoration or something,” Zoe said with a shrug. “But once I inflated it and saw how... suggestive the pose was, I figured I’d just stash it away or toss it.”
She casually tossed the Jon doll to the other side of the bed with a soft thud.
“Zoe, you’ve got a wish-granting rock just lying on your floor,” Karyn said as she bent down and picked it up. “You seriously need to take better care of this thing. Just change it. I mean, what’s the point of having a magic rock if you’re not gonna use it smartly—for yourself?”
She clicked her tongue disapprovingly.
