Sarah said, in a whisper so the other "Sarah" wouldn't hear it, "I wish that when everyone became like me, they only became like me in one way, instead of becoming exactly the same as me."
She had to look away, and standing there was no longer a duplicate of herself, but rather Jon again. At least it seemed to be Jon--this person had Jon's clothes and hair, and sort of looked the same, but it was a girl.
"I mean it," said Jon in a feminine voice. "Give me the rock." He didn't even seem to notice either of the two changes.
Then Jon's friend Robbie walked in. He was still a guy, but his hair had changed to blonde. That was the only difference that Sarah could see from before.
"Hmm," said Sarah. "I wish that everyone except me would forget about this rock."
Jon seemed about to take the rock from Sarah, but hesitated, then put her arms down at her sides, confused. Then Jon said "What did you want, anyway?"
"Nothing," said Sarah, and quickly ran away. She got about a block away and sat down on a bench by a bus stop, to consider what the rock did and what she could do next. All around her, things looked normal, but there were a few too many blondes, and a few too many guys with long fingernails, and a couple of guys with breasts, and a few normal looking girls that might not have been girls before. One woman seemed normal but when she talked to her friend Sarah heard that her voice was exactly like Sarah's own.
So Sarah thought over how to use the rock next, while at home, Jon....
