Sarah and her friends considered it for a while. "Well, thanks to our wish, Jon's now in the running to be the Prom Queen."
"That's true. And it would look pretty odd if a guy got elected Prom Queen."
"Right," Tara nodded. "And you know, we already wished we'd all have perfect make-up and beautiful dresses. So it's only natural that..."
"But Jon's our friend now," Melissa said, "It just doesn't seem - I don't know, right."
"Let's ask Jon."
"Okay," Sarah said. They walked back over to where Jon sat, still rather in a state of shock. "Jon, we have a solution, but you may not like it."
"What is it?"
"Well, we'd like to finish turning you into a girl - just until after the prom," she added hastily. "After that, the dress part of the wish wears off, and we can fix everything else."
"There's also the fact that we're going to have to work to get you elected queen like the all the rest of us," Erica added.
"The prom's not for another month and a half," Jon said.
"I promise," Sarah said sincerely, "We'll fix things back afterwards. But we need you to help us before we can help you. Please?"
Jon thought about it for a minute. Thanks to the wish, he was friends with Sarah - with all these girls - for forever. And they were his friends. And freinds helped each other.
"Okay," he said.
"Ooh, Jon, you're so sweet! Okay," Sarah said, standing up straight, "I wish that until the Monday morning after the Prom, Jon will become a beautiful and stylish female version of himself named, uhm, Paige. I further wish that while Jon is Paige, she will walk, talk, act and think just like the rest of us girls, but without forgetting who she really is."
There was a flash. When the other girls turned back, they were delighted with the result.
The girl sitting where Jon had been resembled him. However, her thinly arched brows, full lips, and delicately beautiful features were quite different. Her glossy chestnut brown hair was pulled over her left shoulder, leaving the right one bare. And the way her curves filled out her clothes left no doubt that she was female.
"Oh Paige," Erica gushed, "You look so beautiful!"
"Do I? Let me see?" Paige got up and walked gracefully over to a nearby mirror. "Wow! Oh Sarah, thank you so much! This is so wonderful!" After that, there was much mutual hugging for a while
Finally, it was time to go. "Oh wait," Tara said, "What about the rock?"
"I think Sarah should keep it," Paige said. "She's done all this wonderful stuff with it."
Sarah tried to convince them that they should take turns ("After all," she explained, "There's 7 of us now, and we could all have it one day a week,"), but the others all deferred to her. They agreed to meet at the mall food court after school the next day to plan some more. And with that, the meeting of the popular girls broke up.
