"Ugh, this shouldn't... be so hard!" Sarah had grown frustrated after running for a few blocks.
Part of the problem was the dress she was wearing. She was not properly equipped to be hurrying like this.
More worrying was that Sarah could tell she wasn't in the same shape she was used to. Her muscles had started screaming at her only a couple minutes into her run. Normally she could take an extended jog without needing to stop and catch her breath.
"It's not that much... further." She reassured herself, slowing her pace, but determined to continue on. "I need a bath as soon as possible. I need to get this sweat off and relax."
Sarah had been aware people had been looking at her nearly the whole journey. It was unusual for a young woman like her to be running a far distance in a dress after all.
Finally her perseverance paid off. She stood just outside the familiar gate of her family home.
Her father had added a security gate to ensure protection for the McMillan household. Sarah quickly typed in the code, but found the gate wouldn't budge.
She tried again, believing she had pushed a wrong button, or typed it too fast. Each progressive attempt ended in failure.
"Is this stupid thing broken!" Sarah's anger was beginning to boil over.
"I'd say it's doing its job properly." Sarah looked through the gate to see Susan McMillan walking toward her. "It's keeping out unwanted guests."
The older blonde woman walked with an effortless strut, a sign of her time as a model. Susan had a gorgeous face, and an alluring figure that brought attention to her whenever she entered a room. At the moment she wore athletic wear, likely about to go for a run of her own.
