He thought about how he was going to explain this to his girlfriend. He had no idea if it would work the same way to change him back, but he had to try. He went to her underwear drawer and got a pair of his briefs. He was so distracted that he hadn't realized that he had gone to Katie's side of the drawer for his underwear.
He touched the medallion with his new underwear but nothing happened. He was confused. He decided to read the note again and saw that he had missed a paragraph.
The medallion can only be once on an individual every 12 hours.
He had accidentally skipped over the most important part of the instructions. He was going to have to live as Katie for 12 hours before he could try to change himself back. He wasn't sure how to process this, so he went to the living room and sat down. Everything about this situation was distracting. He could feel his chest bouncing, his clothing was uncomfortable, he felt really small and he already dreaded having to deal with condescending male assholes when he goes out in public.
He tried to focus and calm his mind. He thought that this is Katie's body, and how would she handle this. She wouldn't stress like he was, so he tried to calm down. Maybe this was an opportunity to strengthen their relationship. This is what Katie has to deal with every day of her life, how terrible could it really be to be Katie for only 12 hours. Hell, her airplane doesn't land for 8 more days. He could experience life as Katie for a full week if he wanted to.
Maybe he should take the opportunity to learn what it's like to be Katie. He could walk a week in her shoes. How would she have handled the situation he had accidentally put himself in?
