"Sure," he said with a smile that was all lust. Clearly I had damaged his brain hard enough last time that he hadn't learned a lesson yet.
I took a step around him as he reached down to help Suzie. His back to me, he never saw my fan come out, or my elbow lined up to the back of his skull. I imagine quite a few stars exploded behind his eyes, judging by how quickly he fell...right onto Suzie.
"Heeelp," my love wheezed comically, trapped under a few tons of orc.
This time it was my turn to laugh.
A few minutes later we rolled the guy to find a few badly mangled silver coins and an old knife -- I didn't care to imagine how he'd aquired them. Suzie claimed the coins while I took the blade; I was finding myself capable with hand to hand combat, but it never hurt to have a little extra punch.
"So," Suzie said as I put the blade through a few simple manuvers. "You were graceful enough as a fighter, but how are you as a dancer?"
If it had been me, rather than my skills, controlling the knife, I'd have stabbed myself from shock. I had completely forgotten about that!
