It was cool to see that Oswin had his organ running all throughout his body. He was essentially a humanoid tank. While all AEP units could cover their bodies with nanite armor plating, Oswin had a thicker, even stronger layer of protection under it. The underlayer was a dark, matte yellow. This was probably due to the fact that it was made of golden nanites. Oswin was unarmed and seemed to be using a martial art that was heavy on the kicks and strikes. It was contrasted with the Void Clan member who could teleport using his AEP unit. 13-011 was able to duck and weave away from Oswin and counterattack him. Battling it out would be a big, drawn out fight. As this went on, all I could do was watch. There would be hell to pay if I interfered. Neither of them would take too kindly to me if I did that. With both of them fighting in earnest, I had nothing to worry about. I would simply swoop in and beat the winner, no matter who it was. Neither of them had what it took to beat me one on one. After a massive roundhouse kick, Oswin knocked 13-011 down. He was a sliver away from primordial.
Very pleased with the outcome, I approached him. Oswin was standing over him. "The winner of this match is Oswin!" I said cheerfully, raising his arm. He looked at me with his eyebrow raised. "Do you think that's enough for a win here?" he asked. I just smiled. He did not join me in smiling. Clearly, he expected to be able to beat 13-011 to a pulp and leave him helpless in his primordial state. I said "I don't need you killing each other. You proved your point." He scoffed. "You guys are too soft." he said. I stepped back and said "As the winner, you have to face me now. Let's go." I reminded him. He got into a ready stance. "You're going to be even worse of than he is. You don't have armor." When he began fighting, I just blasted him with magic. My fire and pillars of light overwhelmed him. He was totally surprised. There was no way for him to prepare for it. I had no interaction with Impact Clan. It would not help even if he knew that I could use magic. It certainly did not work for 01 or 03. They always had problems going against me. "How did you rig this!? It wasn't here before the match!"
When I won the match, I took out a decent sized energy generator to bring them both to full health. That was the ultimate cherry on the cake. I was rescuing them. They could not accept that. However, it did not matter. They did not need to accept it. It was already happening. Now it was time for us to get out of the clan building. 01 was a traitor to the faction. He was hiding and I needed to keep him covered. Leading them out was simple. Both of them wanted to bother me about my magic. Keeping them in suspense was easy enough. "Tell us how you did it!" 13-011 demanded. I just smiled as I continued walking towards the main hall. Oswin sped ahead so that he was in my path. "Brianne. You owe me an explanation. I won't accept a win where you cheated against me." he said firmly. Looking at him, I said "I understand. How about we talk about it up on the street? I have nothing to hide from you of all people. I have an errand to attend to in town." Oswin crossed his arms. "I want it all explained to me now." he said. I rolled my eyes. "Fine. It was magic. I am a holy paladin." I said to him.
I was not lying to him, but I knew that it probably sounded like it. He narrowed his eyes at me. Oswin was trying to get me to break. Magic really should not exist here in a cyberpunk setting. Regardless, that was the fact of the matter. "Stop lying." he said pointedly. "I'm not lying. Why would I even do that!? I really can use magic!" I shot back. He took a step back before looking at me like I was insane. "You can't seriously believe in something like magic spells and fairytales, can you? It doesn't happen in reality." he said in exasperation. Oswin could not believe that he had to have this conversation here. 13-011 narrowed his eyes. "My clan briefed me about you. They say that you and your companions have abilities beyond normal human ranges. It escapes current comprehension and needs to be studied. The cowards in the Researcher faction refuse to take them and learn their secrets. It actively impedes objectives." he said. I scoffed. "The Researchers and Advocates are all doing just fine. There is a large clan of PEA units that use magic in their desert. You guys just hate us all." I spat.
