I saw that they installed an angled slope with barbed wire running along the top. No trespassers were allowed in. For a regular person, this would be a near impossible challenge. I was not a normal person. I was a high leveled paladin. This gave me a very big increase on my athletic ability. My high jump and long jump were augmented by my magic. I waited for the next soldier to pass on by. He was looking around him for trouble. I did not leave the alley I was waiting in. Once he was out of sight, it was time to move forward. I ran at the gate and took a giant leap. I cleared that fence by at least 4 feet. I landed on my feet in a crouch and looked around me quietly. Being in a place I was not supposed to be in put me in danger. If I was discovered, it would not be good for me now. As a member of the coalition, I would be attacked on sight for being here. When you dealt with the military, it was never just one guy. It would be wave upon wave of soldiers coming after me. Slowly, I stood up and began making my way over to the sidewalk. Once I got there, I took a big breath. I needed the sand.
My time spent on this shit would all be worth it if I could just hang out on the sand and watch the waves roll in for a bit. Now that I was safe, I began making my way back to the beach. There were still residents out and about. All of the military men in the world could not stop the desire for the natives to be on the beach. The Heat Clan brought back the fresh water. It was due to them, not the military, that the hostile mechanized creatures the plagued all of the other coasts were killed. Heat Clan gave this region a boon nowhere else had. Everyone knew that. If they moved harshly, people here might just revolt. Now that I was behind enemy lines, I could make my way to the shore. People looked like they were doing just fine. I got to the boardwalk. I smiled and looked at all of the shops that were there. There were a few carnival games that I wanted to play. I won some and lost some. It was a nice way to spend my time and money. After that, I went down to the sand. I took off both my shoes and socks to make sure they did not get dirty. I went to the shoreline and walked along the edge.
Not wanting to spend all day there, I decided to leave after walking the entire length of the available shoreline. This involved some back tracking because I started about a third of the way in, so I definitely was not missing out on anything. Just as I reached the stairs to get back to the boardwalk, someone loudly called out to me. I did not recognize the voice. Just when I was going to ignore it, they called out again. Sighing deeply, I turned to see who it was. To my surprise, it was an AEP unit. He was now waving at me. None of them should be out and about. Then again, Liam left the safety of their clan building to meet up with a friend. Being impulsive was typical for them in the early stages of their development and socialization. Walking over, I could see that he was not trying to hide himself at all. "Hey. You look very cute." he said. I just blinked. "Do I know you?" I asked. He shook his head. "I really want to get to know you though. What's your name?" he asked. He was up to something. I gave my name and he smiled. "I know a good cafe near here. Come with me." he said. I went along.
Oswin was his name. He tried to dodge the question several times. It was only when the barista asked for his name for his order that he responded. "Call me Oswin." he said sheepishly. I guessed that he could be embarrassed about the name he was given by someone. Maybe the story was complicated or just plain weird. He ordered a cappuccino and a muffin. I wanted a iced tea and a frosted scone. Oswin paid for all of it. That was pretty cool of him. I was the one with near infinite money. Once we got our orders, we ate and looked out at the beach. He asked several question about me. I made up a story. He gave a knowing smirked. When I asked him, he also lied to me. After we were done with our snack, he asked if I wanted to come back with him to his place. I shrugged and said "I guess. But I'll tell you now: I never put out on a first date. I'm someone with class." We walked off the beach together. I thought he would take me back to the Heat Clan clan building. Instead of that, he had a room in a local 3 star hotel. He was a true gentlemen. In the morning, he pretended to wake up.
