Nikki went to school as normal, even though she realized that she didn't need to anymore. In just a few days, she'd be Nick again. She and Megan would have to come up with a reason for Nikki to leave town in the next few days.
She was putting her books into her locker when Kyle walked up. She'd been out with him a few times over the last couple weeks. Nikki had a lot of fun with him, and before finding the medallion online she even thought about getting more serious with him. He wrapped his arms around her waist and kissed her, "Want to go with me to the movies tonight?"
She smiled. Kyle had made no secret that he wanted to be more serious. She almost said no, but quickly changed her mind, "Sure, I'm not doing anything. When do you want to meet?"
"How about six, at the diner next to the theater?" She knew the place, it was an easy walk from Megans house.
"Sure, I'll see you there," she said as the bell rang.
As she walked to class, she thought about it. Was it such a good idea to keep stringing Kyle along? She knew that she'd have to break up with him soon. Finally, she sighed. It was Friday, the Medallion could arrive as early as the middle of the next week and there was no rule that she had to change right away. She could let him down easy, then disappear.
Besides, it was her last chance to have some fun as a teenage girl.
